Briefings

The South of England FNRM outreach stand promotes the National Railway Museum, and its Friends. The staff can provide advice on how to get to the NRM and its outstation at Shildon, what's on etc. The stand has working OO models of Rocket and carries many souvenier lines, all related to the NRM and the National Collection. The events which the stand is scheduled to attend can be found in the Diary section of this website. The souvenir products available from the stand include:

  • Greeting cards, fridge magnets, keyrings, tea towels, prints, tote-bags - with a variety of illustrations of National Collection locomotives or class members, or railway posters from the NRM collection.
  • FNRM monograms on National Collection locomotives
  • Railway Company Plaques
  • Badges of National Collection locomotives
  • Plastic models of Rocket

Note that FNRM Members can benefit from a 10% reduction in price on many items by showing their membership card.

Michael Turner Prints
These are exclusive to the FNRM South of England Group and come in presentation folders costing just £6.50 (£5.85 for members) with £3.50 for post and packing (1 to 6 prints). They are available from the stand or by mail order by post or by visiting the FNRM shop.

Rocket handouts
As provided free of charge to children visiting the stand. These tell the story of Rocket and brief details of the early railways. They are useful for school projects.

See the main FNRM shop for mail order of exclusive products.

If you are planning to run a transport related event, or even a craft fair, and would like us to bring our stand, please contact our outreach organiser who will be pleased to discuss arrangements.
